Innovation and engineering have proved a huge success for the Skeeter brand leading up to the 60th nniversary of Skeeter Products, Inc., and that innovation holds true as the company launches its new Saltwater ZX2250 Bay Boat – providing anglers with the ability to reach sport fish in the shallows or at near offshore spots. Like all Skeeter boats, the ZX2250 is definitely “Engineered Like No Other.” An aggressive deep-V hull works in conjunction with the primary and secondary reverse chines to provide a smooth and dry ride. The ZX2250 features a 14”-16” draft, allowing you to go where the fish are, with high performance in minimum depths. Finally, add in the reliability and performance of Yamaha outboard engines, and you get a boat with a quick hole shot, getting on plane within three to four seconds. “The deeper V and higher gunnels of the ZX2250 allow you to easily run offshore to artificial reefs, oil rigs, dropoffs and trolling spots, but you can also reach fish in the shallows, something any tournament angler needs in his or her boat,” says Kenny Hyatt, a Team Skeeter professional angler and fishing guide from Tampa, Florida. The ZX2250 deck was designed to provide more space, maximum efficiency of storage compartments, and more comfortable seating. The engine is set back eight-inches, making the rear deck spacious, and providing plenty of room for casting. Two flip passenger seats located port and starboard are separated by a 31-gallon rear/center baitwell with fill and recirculating pumps/timer. The baitwell’s dual role as a releasewell is perfect for tournament anglers. For safety, the ZX2250 includes an engine mount boarding ladder. The boat’s center console features Yamaha instrumentation, including horn, multifunction speedometer, fuel gauge and clock, tachometer with trim gauge and oil status and analog water pressure gauge. Tilt hydraulic steering, two cup holders and leaning post featuring a removable 94-quart cooler are added comforts. Skeeter’s transom washer makes cleaning up at the end of the day easy. The bow fishing deck features a port side rod storage locker capable of holding rods up to nine-feet in length. An anchor storage compartment, gear storage box and insulated fish box can also be found underneath the bow deck. A six- auge trolling motor wiring system with three battery trays makes hitting the flats easy. And, for the ultimate in power and reliability, owners may select from an array of Yamaha two-stroke and four-stroke outboard engines. Skeeter’s ZX2250 has a host of options to choose from, including Yamaha Command Link, a removable leaning post with back rest or leaning post with 30-gallon baitwell option, driver’s flip/flop seating (exchange), radio/electronics box, a wide range of electronics from Humminbird and Lowrance, trolling motor power options from Minn Kota and MotorGuide, 13” fishing seat, wash down system, trim tabs, Minn Kota battery charger, stainless steel handrails, bimini top and Power Pole with wireless remote. The ZX2250 comes standard with a Skeeter aluminum tandem axle trailer with disc brakes, flush kit, radial tires, tie down and a spare tire with carrier. A swing-away trailer tongue is optional. The MSRP for the ZX2250 Bay Boat powered by a Yamaha F250 is $49,920.
