| Skeeter Owner Prepare for Second Event in Owner's Tournament Series - South Carolina's Lake Murray Hosts Event - 08-28-2008 |
Word-of-mouth continues to drive registration for the Skeeter Owner’s Tournament Southeast expansion, September 19-21 on South Carolina’s Lake Murray, as many of these anglers participated in Skeeter’s record-setting Lake Fork Owner’s Tournament in July – an event that yielded approximately 800 boats and more than 1,600 anglers.
“This year we’re headed to South Carolina’s Lake Murray, one of many bass-rich lakes throughout the State, and a site that has hosted several BASS and FLW professional events,” says Daren Cole, Marketing Manager for Skeeter Products, Inc. “We’re anticipating another successful event, and invite all of our owners to join us for an enjoyable weekend, both on and off the water,” says Cole.
Capital City/Lake Murray Regional Tourism Board will play host to the Skeeter Southeast Owner’s Tournament, and like other events in the Series, this tournament will include numerous activities for Skeeter owners, their families and local residents. Skeeter will host its Pro Night, Friday, September 19, from 6 pm – 9 pm, at the DAM Bar & Grill in Lexington, giving owners the opportunity to meet and greet their favorite professional anglers. The following Saturday afternoon, owners will be treated to a concert and all-you-can-eat Southern BBQ and low country fare at Dreher Island State Recreation Area.
Children, ages 7-14, may compete in the BASS Casting Kids contest, with the opportunity to qualify nationally. Skeeter is also encouraging competitors to bring a new toy, supporting the company’s ‘Boatload of Toys’ program, which provides toys to local crisis centers and non-profit organizations.
Skeeter will award hourly big bass winners, including first through tenth places each hour, with the event’s overall winner receiving a Skeeter ZX200 bass boat powered by a Yamaha VZ200 engine, valued at more than $43,000. Skeeter will also award winners from various divisions, including Longest Drive, Antique Skeeter, Classic Skeeter, Lady, Junior and Super Senior Divisions. Demo rides will be offered, giving one lucky owner the chance to win a Yamaha Grizzly 350 4x4.
Skeeter owners can pre-register for the Southeast Owner’s Tournament by mail up until September 10, or online via the Skeeter Web site at www.skeeterboats.com <http://www.skeeterboats.com> , by September 12. On-site registration will take place up until 6:30 am, Saturday, September 20 at Dreher Island State Recreation Area.
