These contestants produced a record number of big Bass caught, with 26 Bass that were over the lakes upper 24” slot limit.
“Our annual Owner’s Tournament is like a family reunion, and Lake Fork is a trophy bass fishing destination, and our owner’s always put the event on their schedule well in advance,” says Skeeter’s Director of Sales and Marketing, Ben Jarrett. “People view this as an inexpensive way to kick-off the summer with a short, quick vacation. Folks come to enjoy the vendors and sponsor exhibits, food, fishing lore, camaraderie and most importantly, the great Lake Fork Bass Fishing.”
Jarrett adds that each year, Skeeter’s Owner’s Tournament draws anglers from almost every state. “Folks come from everywhere, bringing spouses, friends, grandparents, kids and pets, booking hotel rooms for miles and often staying in recreational vehicles or camp sites, making it a true family reunion.” While the event is built around having a good time, our owners are serious about the competition, as there is significant cash on the line for fishing well.” Lake Fork is a “Trophy Bass” managed lake with a slot limit set for all Bass between 16” and 24” must be released after catching. We are very pleased with the support we received for the ‘Boat Load of Toys’ promotion. Each contestant was required to bring a toy to put their name in the hat for a drawing of a Yamaha ATV four wheeler. All the toys will benefit several East Texas-based charities that help donate gifts to underprivileged children at Christmas.
